THE SLIDESAVVY WORKSHEET COLLECTION
Compare the scope, not just the total
Put two sliding door repair proposals side by side. Record included parts, labor, exclusions and written terms in a private, printable worksheet.
Enter information from two actual written proposals. Blank amounts remain unknown. Totals add only the entered amounts, and do not estimate missing costs or recommend a provider.
Proposal A
Nothing entered yet.
Proposal B
Nothing entered yet.
Make the comparison fair
Check whether both proposals address the same opening, the same number of panels and the same confirmed problem. A part, an adjustment and a complete assembly are not interchangeable scopes. Ask each provider to clarify missing information rather than filling the gaps with assumptions.
Do not enter a tax rate or a fee you have not been quoted. If a total includes several items without a breakdown, put that amount in “Other” and describe it in the scope field so you do not count it twice.
After reviewing totals, compare what will be checked at completion and what terms are actually in writing. A low entered total with blank fields may simply be incomplete.
